An independent study was conducted during the 1997-98 school year by Dr. John Young (Rutgers University) in eight Newark, New Jersey schools. This study found that students in the treatment group significantly outperformed the control group using both the TERA-2 (F=6.82, p<.02) and the Adams/Gough test used in the earlier evaluation of the Waterford Early Reading Program™ in Utah (F=11.69, p<.001).
