NovaNET

I can’t believe I did it!  It was not easy but I managed to become a part of the 2006 graduating class.
I could not have possible done this without NovaNET. NovaNET is what helped me achieve my goal.

As a freshman I was stricken with an illness that left me wondering if I would die.  After numerous doctors and moths of tests I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.  I was constantly sick at school.  My doctor was forced to dismiss me from classes indefinitely.  Now, because I was able to continue my education via NovaNET, I get to walk at my graduation with all me peers.

My mother, and often my doctor, attended many school meetings on my behalf in the quest to continue my education.  A few nice teachers offered me independent studies.  Tutors and correspondence courses were considered.  Nothing was working.  I found myself dangerously close to becoming the next drop-out statistic.  My goal of finishing school seemed like a forgotten wish or an unrealistic dream that was destined to never come true.

When all my hopes had diminished and I was ready to give up, a new option appeared.  I was over a year behind my classmates but now I had a new ray of hope.  Thoughts of quitting were replaced by ambitions to succeed.  I was introduced to the magic of NovaNET.

My illness makes me feel as though I have the fly that never goes away.  NovaNET does not discriminate or have any limitations of time.  I was able to work on my courses when I felt my best, around 2:00 a.m.  It allowed me to work at my own pace without the pressures from teachers.  It let me rest when needed, without worrying about handing assignments in on time.

NovaNET was easy to understand and I could follow the lessons without any difficulties.  IT made learning fun, exciting and most importantly, possible. I found myself eager to continue on to the next module.  I became proud of my good scores and realized how fair the system really is.  I truly believe that without NovaNET’s flexibility and availability I would never have been able to succeed in my number one goal of finishing high school.

The ability to work from my own computer at my own house made all the difference in the world.  NovaNET allowed me to do that.  I was able to continue my high school education to its fullest extent.  I complete 16 of the 20 credits that were necessary to graduate on the NovaNET system.  Because of the NovaNET I can now do something I never thought possible, attend college.  I will never forget and will always be thankful for how NovaNET helped me to accomplish all my dreams and goals.
