SASIxp™ Program Component Allows for Secure, Seamless Interaction and Standards-based Data Sharing Amongst a Variety of Software Applications

Mesa, Ariz. — Jan. 5, 2004 — High quality. Robust. Flexible. These words typify the latest release of Pearson Digital Learning’s flagship student information system, SASIxp™ version 6.0. Compatible with the Mac OS X operating system, the new SASIxp v6.0 is available for immediate distribution.

“Pearson Digital Learning is committed to maintaining its position as the number one provider of comprehensive, high quality student information systems to the K-12 education community," said Phil Schlesinger, product manager at Pearson Digital Learning. "Now our customers can run SASIxp using their OS X operating systems. In addition, all customers will benefit from the improved quality of v6.0 and two new utilities that reduce administrative effort."

In order to reach Mac compliance and to ensure the highest levels of functionality and usability requirements, Pearson Digital Learning rewrote affected portions of the SASIxp product to run natively on the Mac OS X platform. Version 6.0 likewise provides backward compatibility to Mac v.8.6 and 9.x.

Featuring the most robust reporting, scheduling, attendance, and grading capabilities available today, SASIxp v6.0 is a keystone of Pearson Digital Learning's next generation of products, the Concert family of instructional management tools. Through this powerful system, Pearson Digital Learning will offer the most comprehensive student performance management solution suite in the preK-12 education market, with student information, instructional management, curriculum and instruction, assessment, and data analysis and decision support.
